Abstract

Hothouse soil biological activity evaluation has been made by means of cucumber germs roots and without them in three ways. The speed of oxygen absorption by soil, microbial biomass in soil is specified, scoring colonies in Petri dishes of three groups of microorganisms has been performed in wort-agar, meat-peptonic agar and in starch-ammoniac agar. Oxygen absorption speed fluctuations analogy and biomass size has been found in experiment variants. When scoring colonies of microorganisms such analogy is not discovered. The following conclusion has been drawn when evaluating general soil biological activity one should use microbial biomass values in soil in addition to oxygen intake speed by soil. Such combination of both approaches gives additional opportunity for results interpretation when researching general biological soil activity.
