Abstract

The noise level in the streets of Baku and Astrakhan and the continuous noise exposure on psychological and emotional state of people of different age groups have been examined. It has been stated that the urban noise raises the level which is rather dangerous for the health of people. The exceeding of the maximum permissible noise level on the near trunk-road inhabited territory is about 1.5 times. The most significant sources of acoustic discomfort in the urban environment are autoand railway transport. The map of noise pollution of the cities is formed, the general ways of noise protection measures are defined. They are based on the complex approach to the problem solution: town-planning, architectural, building constructive arrangements, the formation of the city system of green plantations, the observance of sanitary code and requirements at designing and building.
