In article comprehension of antinomy of national character by V.V. Rozanov on the example of works of the philosopher in which his understanding of essence modern was expressed to it the Russian art of the end by XIX the XX century beginning is considered: they were incorporated by the author in the book «Among artists» (1913). The judgment of the concrete phenomena of the Russian art is brought by V.V. Rozanov to level of generalizations opening intrinsic lines of national character, important features of a historical way of Russia. The forecast character of the generalizations of the philosopher are discovered. The articles by Rozanov about the creative works by the painters M. Nesterov, F. Maljavin, sculptor P. Trubetskoy are analyses.

Розановым на примере работ философа, в которых выразилось его понимание сущности современного ему русского искусства конца XIX начала ХХ века, объединенных автором в книгу «Среди художников» (1913). Осмысление конкретных явлений русского искусства выводит В.В. Розанова на уровень обобщений, раскрывающих сущностные черты национального характера, важные особенности исторического пути России; обнаруживается прогностический характер обобщений философа. Анализируются статьи Розанова о творчестве художников М. Нестерова, Ф. Малявина, скульптора П. Трубецкого.
