Abstract

The article describes and illustrates the various methods of braking on roller skis. Basic methods of braking on roller skis include: "V-shaped plough", "snake", "aerodynamic" and for skate "T-shaped emphasis". It shows the additional ways to reduce the speed on roller skis: "eight", "turn", "circles" and the "to the ground". It recommends using the various methods of braking depending on: technical preparedness of the athlete, movement speed and expected rate of speed decline. It describes the influence on braking performance on roller skis of the following factors: the level of stiffness and diameter of wheels, relief, speed, humidity and ambient temperature.
