Abstract

Well-known management theories of Organizational Life Cycles [Adizes I., 1988], [Greiner L., 1972] explain typical managerial practices at the different stages of life cycle. In addition a variety of academic research papers investigate how financial measurers of a company change with the stage of its life cycle. All empirical papers showing the application of these theories to company's policies were conducted for western developed countries and for public companies. This article draws on the possibilities to use these theories within Russian market, for medium scale businesses and closely held companies. The author provides the professional point of view of financial analyst and consultant for the reasons to use the organization life cycle theory not only by marketing and strategic management professionals but also by financial analysts and financial managers in Russia. The life cycle approach helps them to better understand current performance of the company as well as to build financial models and plan for the future.
