Abstract

The possibility of using antioxidants for the control of lipid peroxidation processes on the model of glucocorticoid-induced oxidative stress in rats is discussed. Using the methods of chemiluminescence and spectrophotometric analysis of the change in blood plasma superoxide dismutase, catalase, and the content of malondialdehyde and diene conjugates, were evaluated indicators of oxidative stress. It is found that the sulfur-containing polyfunctional antioxidant "Thiophane" can be regarded as a promising agent for use in treatment of complications of glucocorticoid therapy.
