Abstract

The article is concerned with data on the productive and reproductive qualities of geese of the parent flock, as well as on economic efficiency of production the day-old goslings by means of using improved technological methods of preparing the birds for egg-laying. As result of studies conducted it was revealed that the geese of the experimental group showed the highest egg-laying capacity, with the transition to the productive period, having been organized for 20 days prior to the outset of egg-laying. It was also found that the ganders of this group had the highest reproductive qualities. The yield of hatching eggs in this group was 96.4%, the fertilization of eggs increased by 2.78%, the hatching of goslings was by 4.62% higher than in the control group. The profit from the day-old goslings of this group, sold at equal cost, was 420.1 thousand rubles, which was more than in other groups at 100.8-125.5 thousand rubles. The level of production profitability was increased by 12.6%, as compared with the control group.
