Abstract

Succession in education is one of the factors in the society's development. The article in hand examines how the Imperial Dorpat University (early XIX century) trained professors for Russian Universities so that they could be competitive on the European level. Particular attention is paid to the succession of the professional style of the tutors to their students' experience, and to approved mechanisms of this process.
