The description of the 4-th Guards Kuban and the 5-th Guards Don Cossack cavalry corps fighting on the right flank of the Northern Group Forces of the Transcaucasian Front since November till December 1942 is expounded in the article. The author substantiates the position that the Cossack corps fulfilled the mission not completely entrusted with them by the front command, conducting mostly passive fights with the enemy being inferior to them in number.
В статье изложено описание боевых действий 4-го гвардейского Кубанского и 5-го гвардейского Донского казачьих кавалерийских корпусов на правом фланге Северной группы войск Закавказского фронта с ноября по декабрь 1942 года. Автором обосновывается положение о том, что возложенную на них командованием фронта задачу казачьи корпуса выполнили не полностью, ведя большей частью пассивные бои с уступавшим по численности врагом.
