Abstract

The nature of the Bible phraseological units whose component structure contains a proper name is considered in the article. Such phraseological units represent a part of the language picture of the world because the image basis of the proper name, fixed in the phraseological unit, reflects the peculiarities of the viewpoint formed long ago. The Bible phraseological units with a proper name component reflect not only the Christian views, but also are a basis of life experience of native speakers.
