Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of an integrated approach to the study of non-verbal communication, in which special attention is paid to its sociolinguistic and communicative aspects. On the basis of the socio-cultural and communicative stratifi cation nonverbal means of communication reveals the essence of the continuum of nonverbal signs as a special type which is in a relationship with the language system of mutual complementarity and overlapping, but not an isomorphism.
