Abstract

The article studies an attitude of Alexey Peshekhonov an outstanding representative of Russian liberal-populist trend to events, process and shapes of the early 20 th century. Russian cultural activities were considered as the “silver age”. A. V. Peshekhonov stated his opinion mainly in “Russian Treasure” magazine, being its leading author through almost two decades. Russian political life had somewhat calmed down after 1905 Revolution, so the intelligentsia, not indifferent to Fatherland’s destiny, turned to culture and morals issues. A. V. Peshekhonov as a “classical representative” of the populist thought mirrored at his fiction rejected categorically new cultural and art styles, genres, trends, having had been devoted to realism which he believed the only true reflection and servant of Russian people’s spiritual life.
