Abstract

General methodological principles of history constructing in Russian positivism are considered on the base of K.D. Kavelin’s theoretical views. Kavelin’s conception of historical forms’ change, his tendencies of society intellectual development, the principle of historical development sequence are analyzed. Services of Russian positivists to the historical studies in whole and to the national history are pointed out. Under the conditions of the historical studies’ crisis K.D. Kavelin pointed to the necessity of return to the Russian historiography of theoretically methodological principles, without which it is impossible to analyze and understand the sense of uncompiled historical facts. From a theoretical point of view address to the ideas of this philosopher lets us be more tremendously aware of the particular nature of posing the question about the humanistic content of Russian history, bring to light the originality of his strategy of Russian history interpretation.
