Использование метафоры как средства манипуляции общественным мнением в англоязычных публикациях об Украине.

Abstract

В статье рассматриваются средства воздействия на читателя, используемые в западных СМИ с целью формирования определенного образа стран, вовлеченных в актуальные политические события, в данном случае на Украине. Целью данной работы является выявление роли манипулятивного воздействия метафоры на примере создания образов и оценок политической деятельности России, Украины, Евросоюза и США. Проведенный лингвостатистический анализ приводит к выводу о намеренном создании отрицательного отношения к России западной аудитории в таких авторитетных изданиях, как Guardian и New York Times.
