Abstract

The article discusses new possibilities of increasing efficiency of short-wave radio communications systems with the retransmitter outside the location zone of system subscribers. It justifies the possibilities to eliminate multipath propagation of radio signals in such systems through the use of the method of oblique ionospheric sounding and a retransmitting antenna with the controlled antenna pattern in the vertical plane. Based on the analysis of measured and calculated angular characteristics of short radio waves the authors examine the features of controlling the antenna.
