Сращение в композитном словообразовании

Abstract

The article deals with blending as one of the mechanisms of word formation in modern English. The article shows main criteria that make possible to select words formed by blending. The author analyzes the main peculiarities of compound words formed by means of word blending in comparison with words formed by compounding.

Статья посвящена рассмотрению сращения как способа образования сложных слов в современном английском языке. Указываются основные критерии, позволяющие вычленить слова, образованные способом сращения. Анализируются особенности этих слов в отличие от композитов, образованных способом словосложения.
