Abstract

In the given article the author attempts to find out, what current subcultures and countercultures represent, how these terms are interpreted from the modern point of view. To achieve this aim the author uses the researchers of domestic and foreign scientists which were published during the last decade. The conclusion is made that at present the notions «counterculture» and «subculture» are identical, that's why it is possible to use a wider term «youth culture» instead of them.
