Abstract

The authors of the article examine the changes of mortality causes' structure in the male population at working age for the period between 1990 and 2007, with emphasis on their current regional specific characters. It is stated that the premature male mortality is determined mainly by external causes, and most of them can be prevented. The economic, social, and demographic factors of premature male mortality are analyzed.
