Abstract

The objective was to determine the effect of transcranial electric stimulation (TES) on symptoms of the overactive bladder in women. A total of 30 women with symptoms of the overactive bladder were studied. The treatment was chosen in relation with urodynamic type of the overactivebladder. 10 patients with overactive detrusor were treated with antimuscarinic drug Driptan. Five women with overactive detrusor and allergy to antimuscarinic drugs were treated with TES. 15 patients with hypersensory bladder were treated with TES and Driptan. A total of 30 women have significant clinical and urodynamic improvement. There is significant decrease of the urgency and improvement of the psycho-emotional status of the women after TES in comparing with Driptan-monotherapy. TES-therapy is apathogenic and affective method in the treatment of the overactive bladder. Keywords: overactive bladder, antimuscarinic drugs, electrical stimulation.
