Abstract

The essence, causes and consequences of a fundamental geopolitical Land and Sea dualism are considered from the geopolitical standpoint. The concept of the continentaloceanic dichotomy is suggested. A geoeconomic typology is constructed for the world powers by separating them into continental and oceanic ones. It is concluded that the geopolitical interests of the world powers are predetermined by their belonging to a particular geoeconomic type.
