Abstract

From 2005 to 2007 in electrophysiological laboratory of Bakoulev Scientific Center for Cardiovascular Surgery left ventricular electrodes were implanted in 23 heart failure patients with chronic atrial fibrillation. We found out that it was more preferable to implant electrodes into posterior-lateral vein, though implantation into anterior-lateral vein was also possible without complications, especially when anterior branch of His left bundle branch block was present. Biventricular pacing in congestive heart failure patients with chronic atrial fibrillation showed that dissynchrony elimination led to the improvement of left ventricular performance, quality of life and exercise tolerance
