Abstract

This article describes the modern principles of prevention of wound complications after treatment of postoperative ventral hernias where mesh implants were used. There is described the experimental basis and clinical efficiency of vacuum therapy that helps to reduce the incidence of wound complications in patients with postoperative hernias. The effectiveness of the vacuum therapy is analyzed and evaluated by special device designed in the clinic, that can reduce the frequency of the local pyoinflammatory complications by 2.4 times.
