Abstract

Optimedservice Rapid widening of surgical interventions range and development of new technologies of treatment require new models of surgical instruments. Technology of cutting instruments manufacturing has a large influence on blade’s accuracy, durability and reliability. An innovative technology of metal blades manufacturing by dimensional electrochemical forming has been developed and implemented by Optimedservice. A complex of studies was performed, including the investigations of cutting edge geometry, sharpness tests, histological and in vivo evaluation of clear corneal incisions for experimental and clinical approbation of steel calibrated keratomes produced by electrochemical forming. Steel calibrated keratomes made by electrochemical forming make possible to perform clear corneal incision with great accuracy and provide quick healing. These keratomes are comparable with best foreign analogues in sharpness and cutting characteristics and have a precise cutting edge geometry and high quality.
