The author of the article comes from the suggestion that the essence of word usage in mass media is defined by communicative-pragmatic nature of the thinking-in-words base, realizing in different kinds of mediadiscourse. The conclusion is made about the value of the composite-stylistic component of mediadiscourse as arranging general picture of cognitive activity in accordance with the type of mediadiscourse and the specificity of the speech genre.
