
The article considers the questions of the formation transport police in the Russian Empire in the XVIII century and its further development in the Soviet state. The authors identify the main stages of the evolution of the river police and the railway police, give them a description, and also analyze the features of organization and responsibilities of transport police officers for law enforcement and public safety.
В статье рассматриваются вопросы, касающиеся возникновения транспортной полиции в Российской империи в XVIII в. и ее дальнейшего развития в советском государстве. Авторы выделяют основные этапы эволюции речной и железнодорожной полиции, дают им характеристику, а также анализируют особенности организации и обязанности сотрудников полиции на транспорте по обеспечению правопорядка и общественной безопасности.
