Abstract

We studied the effect of hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPAA) on the content of somatotropic hormone in the blood through exposure to mostly physical and emotional stressors. It was shown that STH both participates in the body's adaptation to stress and is an inhibitor or catalyst for other hormones. Multidirectional response of somatotropic system as a reaction to HPAA activation. Stress-associated reaction of somatotropic system or its inhibition indicates stress-related tension in the body. A cooperation between HPAA and STH should be considered a major component in determining the general trend of critical stress-related changes of a biosystem.
