Abstract

In the review the results of cytogenetic and molecular-genetic changes in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) are given. The high importance of NPM1, FLT3-ITD, CEBPAdm mutations in prognosis is shown as well as the importance of the most appropriate treatmentchoicebasedontheriskassessmentandtherapeuticresponse.Newapproachestotreatmentdirectedtosomeofthegenetic and epigenetic changes such as tyrosinekinase inhibitors (TKI) application and demethylating drugs are developed in the article.
