Abstract

Background. The goal of the research is to study morphological changes during the process of skin aging in vivo by laser confocal microscopy of men of different age. Material and methods. The study involved 50 men volunteers of the age from 20 to 60 years old. The authors compared the following age groups: 20-25 years (10 people), 26-30 years (9 people), 31-40 years (11 people), 41-50 years (11 people), 51-60 years (9 people). The study was performed using confocal laser scanning mi-croscopy. Results. During the research it was found out that the initial morphological signs of men skin aging appeared at the age of 25-30 years. More significant involutional changes in men’s skin were observed after 40 years old and were detected in the dermis of contrasting areas of connective tissues. Conclusions. Using confocal laser microscopy it has been found out that the pro-cess of men’s skin aging is caused more by photoelastosis, then by a progressive de-cline of the reproductive hormones level, unlike women.
