Abstract

На материале ранних редакций и окончательного текста рассматривается символика образов воды, являющихся важной составной частью пейзажа в хронике Н.С. Лескова «Соборяне». Образы воды оказываются связанными как с евангельской символикой, так и со славянскими мифологическими представлениями, отраженными в русском фольклоре.

The article deals with the symbols of «water» images being the important part of nature description in the earlier variants of Leskov's chronicle The Cathedral Folk. The water images appear to be connected with both the Christian symbolism and the Slavonic mythological concepts, reflected in Russian folklore.
