Abstract

The article considers one of the internal political confrontations between naval minister A. Tirpitz and Reich chancellor T. Bethmann-Hollweg on the eve of passing a new naval law in 1912. The cause of controversy lay in the different attitude toward the possible colonial agreement with Britain as an alternative to the new naval document, which could aggravate the relations between two countries.
