Abstract

The article dwells on the approaches based on principal economic theories to the process of formation of outward trade policy as a key constituent of macroeconomic policy conducted by the country. The author presents a systematization and a comparative analysis of the economic theory of welfare and the theory of public choice in regard to the formation of outward trade policy. A critical analysis of the potentialities of utilization of free trade policy and protectionism for transformational economies is undertaken.
