The first scientifico-linguistic congress and solution of orthographic issues

The first scientifico-linguistic congress and solution of orthographic issues

Abstract

For the first time there is raised the question dealing with the process of transition to the new Latinized Tajik script and formation of new Tajik orthography on its base. Researching the principle provisions of A. Sukhareva’s “Orthographic Rule” (1929) and “Orphographic Rules of the Tajik Language” adopted at the first scientifico-linguistic congress in 1930 the author of the article comes to the conclusion that the grounds of the contemporary spelling of the Tajik language were laid by those orthographic rules. In the light of adoption of the new orthography and a discussion of absence and presence of separate sounds in the Tajik language theoretical ratings of the first scientifico-linguistic congress acquire especial actualness.
