Abstract

Homeoteleuton is a kind of syntactic repetition with a functioning formant (suffix or ending). It reveals itself in a chain of homogeneous members in a sentence. Being devoid of lexical meaning, homeoteleuton only adds to the connotative meaning of the word. The function of homeoteleuton is to compare and oppose the key words expressing the unexpected semantic meaning, which is considered to be impossible without any context.
