Abstract

This article explores a subjective modification of the structure of a fairy tale retellings in different groups of respondents. Taking as basic structure of a fairy tale, proposed V. Propp, we analyzed retellings of the preferred fairy tales of girls and young women. Respondents of different ages allocate as meaningful different aspects of the myth, which was the subject of the study. Girls choose variety types of stories, while women prefer basically fairy tales. Children's texts clearly expressed triad structure: the hero the antagonist the assistant. Adult retellings basically contains mono-structure the hero, that can be explained by a variety of social conditions and circumstances’ of life. The most important thing for both groups of respondents is the main stage of fairy tale, other stages have varying degrees of election. V. Propp has allocated 31 functions in a fairy tale, but in the retellings of the respondents there are only a few of them, that can characterize respondents personality features.
