Abstract

The paper discusses the problems of untimely death and its related economic losses. Within the North-Western Federal District Economic, the Vologda Region, one of the subjects of the Russian Federation, was used to quantitatively and qualitatively estimate losses from untimely death. A scheme for calculating the demographic losses defined as the lost years of potential life with further expression in cost parameters is accepted as a methodological basis for economic analysis.
