Abstract

The paper summarizes the intermediate results of the research, focused on the current state of traditional forms of the Chelkans’ and the Kumandins’ ethnic culture. The most broken and vulnerable components of indigenous peoples'' ethno-cultural environment were concidered in the context of their subsequent integration into the dominating society. It is concluded that processes of indigenous peoples’ cultural assimilation may be mitigated through the development of national cultural centers and native peoples’ associations activities in places of their traditional residence.
