Abstract

In his article the author dwells on the problem of interpretation dictionaries referring to the early history of Persian-Tajik lexicography, critical texts of literary monuments, such as Firdawsi`s “Shakh-Name”, poetic heritage of such outstanding representatives of that epoch as Rudaki, Kisoi, Shakhid Balkhi, Munchik, Abushakid Balkhi and many others. The author of the article keeps to the opinion that the examples adduced from such lexicographic productions as “Lugati Furs” by Asad Tusi, “Farhang”-i by Tahr Kavvas Muborakshakh Gaznavi, “Farhangi Zofonguyo and Djahanpuyo”by Badriddin Ibraghim and a number of others help mostly obviate wrong interpretations, differing understandings of the material read caused by objective and subjective considerations, restore the truth, prepare extant critical texts. Among the examples delivered we find semantics of words, terms, proper names and etc.
