
In this article the problem of valuation studying within the framework of modern trend in Linguistics Cognitive Linguistics is considered. The notion and basic principles of the theory of valuation categorization are given. The cognitive and linguistic mechanisms of formation of the valuation categories wise and foolish in modern English are analyzed.
В статье рассматривается проблема изучения оценки в рамках современного направления в языкознании когнитивной лингвистики. Дается определение, и раскрываются основные положения теории оценочной категоризации. Анализируются когнитивные и языковые механизмы формирования оценочных категорий wise и foolish на материале современного английского языка.
