Abstract

The article Deals with the nature and history of the origin of cognitivism that became the dominant approach in social sciences of the end of XX-th century, as the most popular paradigm for understanding mental function. Nowdays cognitivism is a theoretical approach, describihg mental function as information process. The article examines the main scientific disciplines, which use the cognitivistic method, recognized by the author as an interdisciplinary approach. The main scientific principles of cognitivism are presented.
