Abstract

The article analyzes the social and cultural space in the North Caucasus region. One of the key problems here is the interaction of the traditional and modern transformations. The author examines their relationship through the prism of the socio-cultural risks. Identification processes as a significant component of socio-cultural space of the region are discussed in the context of their adaptive capacities to social risks. One of the visible prospects of overcoming them on the North Caucasus is preservation of dialogue on the basis of the regional and all-Russian values and strengthening of the Russian identity.
