Existing estimates of economic development on the basis of GDP lead to misrepresentations associated with the growth of government spending, increasing benefits for communities, intensive replacement of physical capital with human capital. Attempts to establish the factor of social capital as a criterion for development are associated with difficulties in structuring. The category of synergeticity of economy, approximated with indicators of financial depth, is proposed for objectification of the concept.
