Abstract

In treatment of patients with brain tumors, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) may be used for prediction of possible postsurgical neurological and behavioral impairments, presurgical planning and prognosis of rehabilitation. Coupling fMRI with neuropsychological assessment opens the way to better understanding of results, higher validity and predictive value of fMRI procedures and data. Detailed description of the case of patient with a brain tumor in left frontal lobe illustrates the benefi ts from conjoint use of the two methods.
