Abstract

The article deals with a method of angular selective regulation for directional light transmission, when a light source moves with respect to the glazed object. An optical filter with grating layers on the two surfaces of the glass substrate provides angular regulation by the relative position of gratings. Both gratings consist of absorptive, scattering or reflective strips, alternating with strips of raw surface of the filter glass. A graphic-analytical method for angular characteristics calculating of light transmission for the plane shape filter is described. At a pre-known trajectory of the light source the light transmission characteristics can be pre-adapted to the change in the incidence angles. The graphic-analytical calculation results are confirmed experimentally. The regulation method potential in architectural glazing, in optical and lighting devices is considered.
