A problem of designing mathematical models for technical preparation in manufacturing engineering processes is considered in the article. We created a functional and information model of technical preparation of production. Technical preparation was represented as a single complex process of implementation of a closed cycle in a certain sequence and relationships united by a common goal and purpose: to plan a technical preparation of production, to design innovative engineering product, to do rationing, to make a choice and to design the equipment for innovative engineering product. The article provides a detailed description for each specified process. Innovative engineering product is defined as a combination of components. The relationships between the components are described as a tree-graph reflecting the composition of the product in terms of the natural hierarchy: the product assembly subassembly detail material. The article illustrates the system operation, with each function represented by a separate process.
