Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the difficulties arising from the translation of historical terms into English. The main difficulty of the translation of historical terms is connected with the preservation of the specific meaning they have in a certain historical period of time in a particular geographic area and their transmission into another language. Historical terms translation does not welcome inaccuracies as it involves the distortion of historical reality and the creation of a wrong idea of the course of history. Translation techniques allow translators to avoid the distortion of historical reality.
