Abstract

Modern phraseology considers it necessary to study phraseological units in speech in order to reveal their functions in the process of communication, and also methods and techniques of inserting phraseological units in the text. Being image-bearing expressions, phraseological units are used as a means of creating imagery. In the text they can enter syntagmatic and paradigmatic relationships, creating an integral phraseological system of a literary work.
