The article focuses on the transformation of the Swedish political system after 1988. The aim of the study was to determine the place and role of the Swedish Democrats nationalist party in this process. The author identifies four key stages in the history of the party and two principal conditions for its success in the 2010 parliamentary election. Moreover, the author characterizes four main elements of the party’s ideology and directions of its development. The intensity of cooperation between the Swedish Democrats and other twin parliamentary parties in Europe has also been analyzed. The author determines key aspects of the Swedish political system transformation during the period under study and makes predictions for the nearest future. Further, the article dwells on the migration policy of the Swedish authorities after 1974 and its effects. The novelty of the study is conditioned by insufficient knowledge of the history of the party.

В статье рассматривается процесс трансформации партийно-политической системы Швеции в период после 1988 года. Определение места и роли националистической партии «Шведские демократы» в нем является основной целью исследования. Выявлены четыре основных этапа истории партии, определены два главных фактора успеха «Шведских демократов» на парламентских выборах 2010 года, четыре основных элемента партийной идеологии и направление ее развития. Проанализирована интенсивность взаимодействия «Шведских демократов» с близкими по взглядам европейскими парламентскими партиями. Определены основные проявления трансформации партийно-политической системы Швеции в изучаемый период, сделан прогноз дальнейшего развития событий. Отдельное место в исследовании уделено миграционной политике, осуществляемой властями Швеции после 1974 года, и ее последствиям. Новизна исследования обусловлена малой изученностью истории партии «Шведские демократы».
