Abstract

Many of the issues and problems of modern society can be largely solved by the dogmas of historical materialism. The study was intended to determine the possibility of studying the structure and trends of socio-economic formations through materialist approach to public life. We used the following methods: qualitative analysis of scientific literature and legal documents, functional analysis, system and dialectical approach, statistical analysis. From the study results suggest that for a more complete and comprehensive understanding of the nature, structure and prospects of development of society, to eliminate the conflict between the productive forces and socio-economic relations science and practice should be based on the materialist conception of history.
