Abstract

The aim of the article is to analyze the implementation of major principles of criminal proceedings, in particular, the adversarial principle and principle of social parity. The attention is focused on the activities of trial by jury, which is one of the most democratic institutions of Russian judiciary reform in 1864, as exemplified by the criminal cases examined in Kazan District Court.

Цель статьи - анализ реализации основных принципов уголовного судопроизводства, в частности, состязательности и социального равенства, в деятельности одного из самых демократических институтов Судебной реформы 1864 г. в России - суда с участием присяжных заседателей на примере ряда уголовных дел, рассмотренных Казанским Окружным Судом.
