Abstract

We have studied parameters of motor behavior in some behavioral tests (suok test and test «grid») in 2 and 4 weeks after intracortical injection of inhibitors of protein synthesis cycloheximide on 36 adult white mice of BALB. As far as cycloheximide is poorly soluble in water and isotonic solution, we used a 20% solution of ethanol in 0.9 % sodium chloride to dissolve it. Animals of control group received intracortical injection of this solution. The intracortical injection was done in the area of motor neocortex with coordinates A = 1 mm, L = 1 mm, which corresponds to the motor representation of the forelimb. As a result of the experiment we revealed a significant (p < 0.05) decrease in horizontal locomotor activity of animals of the experimental group on the 2 nd week of the experiment; this parameter was compensated by the 4 th week of our study. Exploratory activity of animals of the experimental group was high throughout the study period. Thus, the blockade of protein synthesis using cycloheximide in neurons modifies for 2 weeks the activity of cortical motor representations and is accompanied by reversible changes of behavior parameters.
